GoldWave - A complete audio edition and analysis tool offering so many options. Many audio formats support by the main program and plug-ins for supporting some others (format expansions).
The initial open track window displays graphically both stereo channels in a "Audacity style", very convenient for fixing the points for the section to modify or enhance, by displacing the cursor vertical line and select from one point to another. All the graphics for displaying are very impressive (spectrum, waveforms, etc.).
Effects: doppler, dynamics, echo, compressor/expander, invert, reverb, reverse, etc. are applied by just a simple mouse click. All of them are previewed. The user can preset different effects for re-applying purposes.
Parameters changes are also very easy to make: equalizer, low/high and band pass filters, noise reduction, maximize and match volume (both channels), 'click' remover, smooth, fade in and fade out, etc. all very useful for recovering, rearranging or changing audio semblance. Variable play back speed (pitch) for dictations or musical instrument practitioners.
Edition tools are also remarkable: copy and paste, replace, save as, copy to, overwrite, crossfade, mute, insert silence, select view, marker, channel, etc. and all of them are very easy to use too.

Input files can be recorded (taken) from a turntable, radio, microphone, cassette deck, etc. through the line-in connection or digitally copied from an audio CD or Hard Disk file previously recorded. |
